imagine the permissions of a category is not completely public, i.e. only TL2 users and above can post into a topic, and others can only read.
then if someone is TL2 or above, he can obviously create a topic into that category.
but if he creates a topic somewhere else, and wants to edit the topic and move it into the mentioned category, he can’t. and he gets this error:

Here is a question. Is the Category the user is trying to move the topic to a public one?
I have found if you try to move a topic from a restricted Category to an unrestricted public category it will usually say no.
Also if you use tags that are not allowed in the new category you need to untag it save it and then edit it again to move it to new category

this is not the case, as tags are not restricted in our community. also it happens even for topics without any tags.
no, it’s restricted. but the user who is trying to edit the topic and move it to the restricted category, have the right permissions.
I haven’t tried this, but even this seems to be a bug, since users should be able to post into the destination as it’s unrestricted.

Is that causing this error if there are some TL0 created topics in that category? Because I restrict it later so some TL0 topic stayed in there.
Did you fix it somehow? Thank you!

Hello,
Thank you i try but it automatically order everyone to the end. So I cannot change this order. I think it is order by alphabetical.
Can you check to see if ‘Require moderator approval of all new topics’ is selected under Settings > Moderation for the category in question?
Turning this setting on will prevent you from moving existing topics in to a category that requires moderator approval (with the exception of staff members).
