Hi,
Where can I place my robots.txt and sitemap.xml? I went ahead and placed them in /var/discourse but they cannot be read by google or bing.
Thanks,

Discourse manages the sitemap, you can’t manually upload a file.
Where can I then upload a sitemap for my site?
As I said you can’t upload a sitemap. There is a plugin:
But it’s not really necessary.
If it’s not needed, why is it?
The question is not accidental, because the pages after a 3-month google test are poorly indexed compared to other forums cms. What could be the reason for this?
Pages that rank poorly on Google are, almost always, pages with poor and non-unique content.
I can’t speak as to “other forums CMS” but I find that topics / posts are indexed before Moderators can determine if they should even be indexed. i.e. within a very few minutes at most.
