Hi,
Would it be possible to open all external links in Discourse in a new tab rather than opening it in the same tab?
Thanks!

Hi,
Wouldn’t this option (preferences → interface) be what you want?
Thanks for your comment.
Would it be possible to make this global for every user?
Edit: I just found this setting:
But most links are not opening externally.
Which external links specifically? Can you make a post with an example?
I realize there is a setting that you can change as the default for each user to open links in a new tab. Is it possible to restrict users from turning this off? So that any external site links will always open in a new tab?
Why would you like to stop users doing what users want to do? If an user doesn’t want to open new tabs or whatever an admin should respect it.
But AFAIK default is for those who don’t want to play with settings. It wouldn’t be default if it’s forced. Ergo, you can’t change that behavious, out-of-the-box anyway. Surely plugins can do a lot of things.
