Reasons of holding an account?

Can you please guide me that what are the reasons that goes on “account temporarily on hold”. Any blog post where it’s mentioned? Please tell me all the reasons. TIA

That only happens when an account is silenced by a moderator (or, in some cases, Discourse itself).

What are the reasons when discourse itself holds an account?

In the administrator spam settings you can see all of the default thresholds that will automatically silence new account until it can be reviewed, such as:

You can adjust the settings if many new users are being put on hold unnecessarily. One of the requirements of new members is they must take at least 3 seconds (3,000 milliseconds) to type first post or else their account will be temporarily frozen:

Thanks, @Architect !

If a new user start a new topic in less than min_first_post_typing_time then it will automatically hold user’s account?

Curious what brings up the question?

If the new user account is at trust level #0, and the setting to automatically silence fast typers on first post is enabled, then the system would automatically send out a PM notification that reads “account temporarily on hold.”

It can also happen for other reasons, are you asking because this happened to you or is happening to other users on a site you manage or moderate?
