- Some of my users have the Leader or Regular badge, but the associated user title is not set (selected).

I might be mistaken but I don’t think they did it by themselves. So I need to understand: what are the conditions under which a user title related to a trust level badge is set or not set on a user profile?
Additional context: I need that because I’m wondering if the user title feature is fit for specific usecases I’m working on.
User titles are added to the list of titles the user can select. They may not have selected Leader if they have just been promoted and have not realised that it comes with a title.
Some can also select the (None) option, to not have a user title.

So you’re saying that the attribution of a trust-level-badge-related title is never automatized, it’s always a user’s choice?

I meant, the title attributed to the Trust Level badge is added to the list of titles that they can select, in a dropdown under /my/preferences/account. They can select it anytime after getting the badge. Whether they do select it or not, is another matter.
That would be because the Leader never changed their title when they were promoted, so it remained at their current title (Regular).
It would be difficult to automate it, because what if they attain a badge that gives a title (like Champion), and get promoted? What will the title be automatically set to then?
