Don shared a custom Discourse reaction modification that resembles Facebook reaction buttons. The modification includes CSS code to customize the reaction picker and state panel, as well as options to hide the default “who liked” section and user list panel.
The modification was well-received by the community, with users frold, Heliosurge, and PaulinaMX expressing their appreciation.
PaulinaMX asked how to remove the black hover effect, and Don provided a solution by adding .discourse-reactions-list .reactions .user-list { display: none; } to the CSS.
neo asked about removing the title attribute hover text, and Don suggested editing the js.discourse_reactions.picker.react_with text on /admin/customize/site_texts.
jayarr inquired about adapting the modification for a setup with two rows of reaction options, and Don mentioned plans to create a theme component to make it easier to use and customize.
Don later announced the creation of a theme component, which includes settings for reaction labels, picker rounding, state panel rounding, and options to hide user list headings, user lists, and who liked sections. The theme component is available on GitHub: https://github.com/VaperinaDEV/discourse-custom-reactions.
I made some CSS modification on Discourse Reactions Plugin. So it looks much like Facebook reaction buttons.
These for 6 reaction buttons including the default which is on my site is .
COMMON / SCSS
Place this code to common - css section. Important notice: You can modify the emojis above label with edit content: 'Love it!', content: 'Beautiful' etc… lines: Of course you can use whatever reaction you want. It is just a label above the reactions.
Unfortunately that is not possible to hide title attribute with css but you can edit the js.discourse_reactions.picker.react_with text on /admin/customize/site_texts to make it less longer.
Thank you JR I think I will create a theme component from this to make it easier to use and fit to reactions, add some fixes etc… I hope that will help. I’ll try to make it next week.
I made a theme component from this. I think it makes it easier.

reactions_label
Separate with semicolon ; reaction name;reaction label
reactions picker rounding
Reactions picker (border-radius) corners rounding. You can use px, em, etc
