Display the value of approve_post_count below the relevant posts on the review queue

AI-generated summary

The discussion is about displaying the value of approve_post_count below the relevant posts on the review queue. T_Disco suggests changing the sentence displayed at the bottom of approve_post_count related posts to “The first x posts from…” and linking “first x posts” to the relevant setting page. They also propose removing “See approve post count.” from the end of the sentence.

Moin expresses concerns that the suggested change may not prevent text wrapping in non-English languages. They also argue that maintaining the current structure, which ends with “See {link to setting}”, is clearer for moderators and provides a visible indication of the link for category moderators without access to it.

T_Disco acknowledges Moin’s points and suggests that an initial proposal to display the approve_post_count value below the relevant posts would be useful for moderators and category moderators.

Suggestion:
Change the beginning of the sentence that is displayed at the bottom of approve_post_count related posts in the queue:

Review-Queue-Approval-Number-Suggestion
to:
“The first x posts from…”
and if approve_post_count is set to 1
“The first post from…”

Maybe, also remove ‘See approve post count.’ from the end, and link the ‘first x posts’/‘first post’ to /admin/site_settings/category/all_results?filter=approve_post_count instead.

Changing:

The first few posts from every user must be approved by staff. See approve post count.

to:

The first x posts from every user must be approved by staff.

This would prevent the text from wrapping onto two lines.

That may be true for English, but probably not for other languages.

In general, I like that the structure is the same for all the different reasons why a post requires approval. They all end with “See {link to setting}” which is a clear reference.
I think for moderators, a “see this setting” highlights better where the link is going to take them and why it in some cases doesn’t work than linking some words. And for category moderators who see the text but without a link, it’s visible that there is probably a link for staff.

Thanks @Moin, that makes sense.

I haven’t had any call to use the category moderators setup yet. If the “See {link to setting}” is not a link for category moderators (and moderators it seems) then the initial suggestion in:

would be useful for moderators and category moderators.
