How do I get email notifications when a particular user makes a post?

I want to receive an email notification when a particular user in my discourse forum makes a posts. I currently have it set to “follow” them, but I am not getting emails when they make posts.

Hello and welcome @proot :slightly_smiling_face:

Have you ticked the box on your Preferences/Notifications page?

[YourSite]/my/preferences/notifications

(and it might be worth checking your Preferences/Emails settings too :+1:)

Edit:

Having said that, I now can’t remember if I’ve ever received an email for a Follow notification. I shall go and test.

Update: It does not look like that is a notification that triggers an email.

Hopefully someone will correct me if I’m mistaken…

That depends on this user preference:
Send me an email when someone quotes me, replies to my post, mentions my @username, or invites me to a topic

That’s what I initially thought, but I set both to ‘Always’ and Followed a test user to check. I got the notification of when they posted, but no email. And no email was sent or skipped. I may have fluffed the test somehow. :slightly_smiling_face:

@JammyDodger, I have the same experience as you. I am not receiving emails when someone I am watching makes a post, including when I have the preference Jay mentioned set to Always.

I’ve tried it again a few times, and I’m not getting an email generated for that notification. :man_shrugging:

Pretty sure email notifications aren’t implemented in the Plugin yet.

Suggest you post on the Plugin Topic.

Is there a way to send out an email to all users when a specific user posts a thread?

I have an RSS feed setup to a moderator account and I want that to also email the forum users.
