Customize text in Discourse

In Discourse you can customize all of the text via the admin interface. Simply go to Admin > Customize > Text and you’ll be presented with a search page.

Search for the text you want to customize, click Edit then enter the new value. For example, I changed the “Dashboard” link to say “Evil Trout” here on Meta. After refreshing the page the text has been updated:

Need help identifying the strings to translate? See how to Find a translation key with verbose localization

As always, give it a spin and let us know of any bugs or suggestions and we’ll tweak accordingly!

is there any way to add a hyperlink to custom text?

Yes, you can do so by using markdown links, eg:
This is a link to Google!
Which is (raw):

This is a [link](https://google.com) to Google!

Thank you @Firepup650. I’m trying to update some footer text in one of the emails and when I cut and paste your line it displays like below. Maybe these markdown links don’t work on the emails?

I was trying to update user_notifications.chat_summary.unsubscribe_no_link

Hm. Perhaps the email templates are different. Could you try raw HTML instead?

This is a link to Google!
Which is (raw):

This is a link to Google!

I wonder if that was still the case until the new admin sidebar… :upside_down_face:
